Locking Down the Court: Defensive Strategies

Prevent your opponents from scoring with solid defense.

• Intense Defense (L2/LT): Hold to stay locked onto your opponent, moving laterally to mirror their movements. This is fundamental for on-ball defense. Use the Right Stick to move your defender’s arms to contest passes or shots.
• Steal (Square/X or Right Stick towards ball): Attempt to poke the ball loose. Timing is critical to avoid fouls. Try to steal when the ball handler is dribbling, spinning, or off-balance.
• Block (Triangle/Y): Jump to block a shot. Time it precisely when the shooter releases the ball. Best used when you have a height advantage or can beat the attacker to the jump.
